Claire Harrison-Breed has worked with children, young people and adults for twenty years in a range of social care settings. Claire has a Masters in Gestalt Psychotherapy and is a registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Play Therapist. She also holds a Post Qualifying cert in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and specialises in therapeutic interventions for children and families blending these approaches. Her specialist areas of interest and expertise encompass, post adoption support, attachment, mental health, community intervention and preventative strategies, emotional wellbeing and resilience, trauma loss and recovery, behavioural difficulties and safeguarding. Claire is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work for University of Northampton and has written a range of articles relating to mental health and wellbeing. She is the author of 'Play therapy What Is That? An Introduction to Play Therapy for Children' she is also an academic peer reviewer in psychotherapy. Claire has a number of year's experience of consultation, supervision and training to a variety of services in the statutory and voluntary sectors. Claire presently serves as a director on the board of directors for The British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) and is chair of the BAPT Research Sub Committee. She is passionate about her work and enjoys being inspired by people, and aims to inspire others.

 

Sonia Murray holds a Diploma in Social Work and is a registered Play Therapist working in a school. She has twenty five years experience as a practitioner in the fields of child abuse, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, children's mental health, childhood trauma, parenting programmes and Play Therapy.  Sonia trains nationally and internationally on topics related to Play Therapy, understanding behaviour, play, communicating with children, behaviour management, positive parenting.  Her work history includes employment as a childcare Social Worker, parent worker, Play Therapist in Education and Social Care and Health settings. Sonia provides consultation, supervision and training in both statutory and voluntary fields of children and young people's services.  Sonia has also contributed to a number of publications, including The Use of Therapeutic Stories.

 

Sonia has served on the Board of Directors for British Association of Play Therapists in a variety of capacities including Treasurer and chair of Business and Research sub-committees for nearly ten years. Sonia is passionate about understanding children and young people and gains so much from supporting and advising others who are wanting to develop children, young people and families' lives.
